Lynette J. Seeley Deates, age 77, of Earl Street in Corning, NY, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.
Lynette was born in Corning on July 4, 1940, to Lyndon and Arietta (Wood) Seeley. She was a graduate of Campbell Central School. She married Gary Y. Deates in 1958 in Corning. She was retired and loved working in her flower gardens. She owned and operated the Green Trees Motel in Williamsport, PA for several years. Prior to the Green Tree Motel, she was a founding officer of Monroe Cheeses in West Virginia.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Penny) Deates, Jr., of Newville, PA; grandchildren: Jeremy (Jen) Deates, Jeff (Teresa) Deates, and Jessica Deates all of Florida; step granddaughter, Amanda (Kris) Vioral of Pennsylvania; great grandchildren, Taylor Baker, Kayden Deates, Julia Deates, Hunter Deates, James Deates; step great granddaughter, Amaris Vioral and step great grandson Koen Vioral; brothers and sister-in-law: Michael Seeley of Campbell, Richard Seeley of Addison, David (Veronica) Seeley of Campbell, sister and brother-in-law Dianne (John Driggins) Seeley of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lynette was predeceased by her husband, Gary Y. Deates, and brother and sister-in-law Theodore (Shiela) Seeley, and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Seeley, and Marie Seeley.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Marconi Lodge, 26 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, on Saturday, April 28, from 1 until 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to a charity of one's choice.
