Obituary of Samuel Hanson
Samuel E. Hanson age 45, of West High Street in Painted Post died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Corning Hospital unexpectedly.
Sam was born in Corning on December 17, 1960 to John and Thyrza (Packard) Hanson, Sr. He was employed by The Taxi Stand Restaurant where he was a short order cook. He enjoyed fishing, and the Yankees and Giants. Sam was preceded in death by his father in 1998.
He is survived by his mother Thyrza of Painted Post, three sisters, Mary (Gary) Thompson of Tonowanda, NY, Christine (Hugh) Turner of Painted Post, and Shayna Hanson of Knoxville, TN;
three brothers, Lars (Martha) Hanson of Seattle, WA, John Hanson, Jr. of Painted Post, and Charles (Anne) Hanson of Durango, CO; nieces and nephews, Rikki, Kortney, Riley cheeky buddy, Lindsey, and Brenner; his uncle Gene Olson of Rock Stream; an aunt Esther Bergmann of Waconia, MN; and three cousins, Gregg Pruden, Todd Pruden, and Angel Gustafson.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 1 - 3 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning where funeral services will follow calling hours at 3:00 PM.
