Obituary of Mary Shepard
Mary E. Shepard age 84, of Painted Post died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Corning Hospital.
Mary was born in Elkland, PA on January 21, 1921, to James and Joyce (Decker) Costley. She was the wife of Dean Shepard who preceded her in death in 1998. Mary was an acitve member of the Women of the Moose in Corning where she chaired Wednesday night dinners and had been Senior Regent, was a Past President of the VFW Womans Auxillary in Corning, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her brothers Lewis and Neal Costley, by a sister Betty Baker, and a great granddaughter Daneille Huber.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Robbie) Magde of Palmyra, NY and Beverly (Donald) Morton of Painted Post; two sons, Dean Terry (Aurora) Shepard of Arcadia, FL and Brian Shepard of Hermitage, TN; two sisters, Erma Hawkins of Grand Forks, SD and Treva Gillespie of Topton, NC; two brothers, Larry (Betty) Costley of Orlando, FL and Glen (Lorraine) Costley of Naples, FL, several nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning on Saturday December 10, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery.
