I just learned of Martin's untimely passing and wanted to add my thoughts. I met Martin when he and I were graduate students at Auburn. We worked together for six years and have kept in touch over the years since we graduated in 1990. Martin was one of the most humble and caring people I have ever know. He had a great sense of humor and could take it as well as dish it out. He was a steady and constant friend and coworker who was always willing to lend a helping hand or advice. I will miss him greatly as will all who were fortunate enough to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Diane and his son, who he was so proud of, Marcus. Martin was a shining light in an often dark world and I am greatly saddened by his passing, but I know he is with our Lord and Savior and will always be with us in our hearts.
