Obituary of Rev. Henry Ritchie
Rev. Thomas Henry Ritchie, age 97, of Shepherd Lodge went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2005 in Toronto, Canada.
Rev. Ritchie, or T.H. as his friends knew him, was born in Donegal, Ireland on July 31, 1907, the son of Hugh and Susan (Wilson) Ritchie. On July 9, 1931 in Toronto, Canada, he married Rebecca Ann Brown. She predeceased him on July 18, 2002.
The Ritchie Evangelistic Party was associated with the Christian and Missioary Alliance denomination. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Sweden and Germany. Countless thousands attended their unusual musical program consisting of sleigh bells, hand bells, cord bells, cow bells and musical glasses. The Ritchies retired in 1992 after more than 60 years of continuous service for the Lord. They had many close friends in the Corning area and would often spend their summers here.
T.H. is survived by his several cousins.
His funeral service will be Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 1:00pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning with Rev. Jesse Peace officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
