Obituary of Ann Sweigart
CORNING - Ann Sweigart age 77, of Green Meadows in Painted Post, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Corning Hospital following an extended illness.
Ann was born in Corning, NY on January 7, 1928, the daughter of Roland and Mildred (DeWitt) Loveless. She married Thaddeus Sweigart in 1953 and was preceded in death by him in 1969. Ann was employed by Drs. Gurnsey, Ober, and Darling in Corning, where she had been a Medical Assistant for many years. Ann had a long career as a medical assistant, and retired in 1998 after 12 years with the St. Frances Medical Center in San Fransisco where she was closely involved in working with AIDS patients. She was highly regarded as a people person who loved her patients and will always be remembered for her kindness and love. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corning where she had served in many capacities.
She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth Wachholtz of Corning and Cynthia (Cesar) Vaieciello of Daly City, CA; and two sons, Jeffrey Sweigart of San Diego, CA, David (Madeleine) Sweigart of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Sweigart of Hammondsport and Lois (Charles) Chase of Corning; one brother, Bill (Barbara) Loveless of San Fransisco, CA, seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Corning, 1 E. First Street, Corning, with Reverend Robert P. Boell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post.
Memorial donations may be made in Anns name to a charity of ones choice.
