Obituary of George Colon Jr.
George Albert Colon Jr., age 61, of Charles St., Riverside, formerly of Olean, NY, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Mr. Colon was born February 4, 1943 at Jersey City, NJ the son of George A. and Alice (Lopez) Colon Sr. He was a member of the US Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965 when he served in Vietnam during that war. George married Debbie J. Inman October 2, 1999 at Riverside, NY.
He was a maintenance mechanic for more than 20 years with the Guthrie Medical Group, where he had worked in Corning for the past several years.
George was a practical joker who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, music, fishing, and the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by his wife Debbie at home; four daughters: Jennifer Colon of Corning, Lindsey Colon at home, Rachael Colon of New York, NY and Amanda Wagner of Olean, NY,
three sons: Nathan Wagner of Olean, NY, Christopher and Nicholas Wagner at home; three sisters: Rosalyn Hayes of Duck, NC, Angela Colon of Bronx, NY and Doreen Colon of New York, NY two brothers: David Colon of New York, NY, Rodney Colon of Bronx, NY
Parents, George A. and Alice (Lopez) Colon of the Bronx, NY; Granddaughters, Diamond and Destinee Colon and Aubrey Hulbert; Grandson, Kalani Moore; nieces: April Jones, Lisa Ramirez, Melinda Colon and Keisha Colon and nephew, Ray Raminez.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 - 7 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 am at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning with Rev. Ted Roloson officiating.
Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath.
