Obituary of Wanda Richards
Wanda M. Richards age 74, of Riff Road in Caton, NY, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Wanda was born in Jackson Township, PA on October 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Cecil and Veura Ellen (Vosburg) Congdon. She married Robert Richards on March 27, 1948 in Southport. Prior to opening Richards Market in Caton in 1959 with Bob, Wanda worked at the Corning Glass Works, Remington Rand, and as a schoolbus driver. After selling the store in 1987, she worked as a home health care aid and spent time making crafts and home decorations.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Caton; one daughter, Arletta (Butch) Allen of Caton;
two sons, Robert Jr. (Donna Thompson) Richards of Caton and Scott (Velvet) Richards of Caton, 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Wanda was predeceased by three sisters, Irene, Gladys, and Marian.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday December 18, 2004 from 1-3 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, where funeral services will follow calling hours at 3:00 PM with the Reverends Lloyd Cobb and John Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton.
