Gordon R. Frawley, 85, of Addison, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Bath, NY on July 9, 1933, the son of the late Leo and Verda Frawley. He married Elizabeth J. Padgett on July 7, 1960 in Addison, NY. She preceded him in death in 2007. Gordon began farming and logging at a young age before going to work for Polly-O. He then spent 41 years working as a laborer for Corning Glass Works while continuing farming on his families farm. He retired in 1993 after 41 years of service.
In his free time, Gordon enjoyed hunting and fishing and collecting antique tractors. He attended many tractor pulls. His family will remember him as being a fun-loving jokester who would do anything for his family.
Gordon is survived by his children: Christine Frawley of Addison, NY, Richard (Donna) Frawley of Addison, NY, William S. Frawley of Addison, NY and Amy S. Frawley of Addison, NY; granddaughter, Alicia "George"(Kendall) Hughes of Richmond, VA; step-brother, Ron (Darlene) Beers of Campbell, NY; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, Gordon was predeceased by his brother, Roger Frawley; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Kapral.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St., Addison, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's name may be sent to the Guthrie Corning Cancer Center or the Guthrie Corning Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund. Checks may be made payable to Guthrie Corning Hospital, with the memo stating the name of the fund and "In Memory of Gordon Frawley."
