Grief Resources

Our dedication to your family doesn't end with the funeral. Our staff genuinely cares about the families we serve, and we want to help you through grief’s journey.   The death of someone we love can be one of the most difficult experiences of life. Words can't even begin to describe how painful and deep the grief can be.  Dealing with loss is often much more challenging than we expect, and than others might expect.

We have compiled 10 articles to help you understand about grief, and how we can help ourselves and others through the difficult process.  These articles, written by Dr. Bill Webster, our Director of Grief Education, are part of a comprehensive library available on our website.

Dr. Bill developed his knowledge of grief counseling through his own very difficult personal experience. In 1983, Bill's young wife died suddenly of a heart attack, leaving him not only to cope with his loss, but also to raise his two sons, who were only 9 and 7 when their mother died. Dr. Bill has become a recognized author, a renowned international speaker and seminar leader, and he brings 30 years of experience in the field of grief support and counselling.

In addition to this information from Dr. Bill, our staff is very familiar with the grief resources in our community, and can refer you to local support groups.

Below we offer two inspirational grief resources that have helped many to heal after the loss of a loved one. If you are struggling and feel you would benefit from additional help, please contact us at our Carpenter-Flint location or contact us at our Carpenter's location.  We are here to help.
