When deciding on a traditional burial, many local cemeteries require an outer container for the casket. This may be either a vault or a grave liner. There is no New York State law that requires the use of a burial vault. However, most cemeteries require, at a minimum, the use of a grave liner to maintain the gravesite properly and for safety purposes. While a grave liner will satisfy basic requirements, a vault offers numerous additional benefits, including increased strength and durability, and most critically protection against water.
Our video highlights several options in burial vaults.
