Genevieve M. Crane, age 96, of Addison, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Absolut Care. She was born on March 17, 1921 in Addison, the daughter of Abe and Ina (Norwood) Teachman. She married Russell Crane on March 25, 1939 in Addison. He predeceased her in 1992.
Genevieve was born in Addison and spent her entire life here. She lived in the same residence for over 65 years until she moved to Addison Place and then to Brookdale. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who was very family oriented. Genevieve was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Addison, worked at Webb's Grocery Store in Addison, Woolworth's in Corning and she retired from Addison Central School District where she worked in the cafeteria. Genevieve extended her love and best wishes to her family and friends right up until she passed.
She is survived by her children, James (Mildred) Crane of North Carolina, Stephen (Patti) Crane of Painted Post, Ralph (Marge) Crane of Hamlin, NY, John (Mary Jane) Crane of Corning, and Wayne Crane of Painted Post, son-in-law, Rusty Smith of Virginia, 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Genevieve was predeceased by her son, Gary Crane and her daughter, Sharon Smith.
Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall Street, Addison, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. A celebration of Genevieve's life will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, One Wombaugh Square, Addison. Burial will take place at Addison Rural Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 am.
