George E. Bedell, Jr., age 64, of Big Flats, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1953 in Rochester, the son of George E. and Janice (Stymus) Bedell Sr. He married Teresa M. Prince on November 26, 1977 in Tompkins Corners.
George had a great sense of humor especially his "George Jokes". He was an avid Elmira Jackals and New York Rangers Hockey Fan. George enjoyed going to concerts featuring Beatles Tribute Bands with his granddaughter Riley and he enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Teresa, daughters, Melony (Todd Selander) Bedell of Elmira Heights and Kimberly Bronson of Horseheads, son, Nathan (Alma) Lockridge Sr, of Tucson, AZ, siblings, Joyce Alvey of CA, Carole Bedell of CA, Debi (Chris) Fobar of CA, Linda Schlueter of CA, Albert Bedell of CA, Terri Ferguson of WA, Bob Bedell of SD, Susan (John) Fenske of AZ and Mary (Craig) Neubauer of NE, grandchildren, Riley Bronson, Owen Bronson, Nathan Lockridge Jr, Brannon Lockridge, and Willie Lockridge, and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara, Loren, and Steve and his parents, George E. and Janice Bedell Sr.
Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A celebration of George's life will follow there at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place at Rural Home Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
