Lucille A. Pierce, age 88, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at her son's home in Bath surrounded by her family.
Lucille was born on October 28, 1928 in Jackson, PA, the daughter of the late William and the late Elizabeth (Woollett) Deyo. She married Leslie Pierce on September 23, 1978, he predeceased her in 2010. Lucille spent her years raising her six children.
Lucille was the past President for the Daysprings II Association that put on activities, fundraisers, bake sales and dinners for their residents. In her free time, Lucille and Leslie enjoyed joining their children on various camping trips to Afton, NY, Letchworth State Park and Great Bend. She loved taking boat rides on Seneca Lake, shopping and eating out with friends and family. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren – often taking weekend trips to visit her grandchildren in Sidney, NY. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Ted Prentice, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Sharon Madison of Corning, NY, Stanley Prentice of Bath, NY, Robert Prentice of Elmira, NY and Dale (Patti) Prentice of Unadilla, NY; grandchildren: Tammy of Orlando, FL, Jamie of Sidney Center, NY, Chris of Sidney, NY, Brenda of Corning, NY, Alyssa, Derek, Becky and Nicholas of Unadilla, NY, Dave of Syracuse, NY, Brian of Carlisle, PA, Scott of Dover, DE, Rob of Corning, NY, Patrick of Athens, PA, Anthony Prentice of Corning, NY; 30 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Prentice.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 11:00 am at the family plot in Hope Cemetery, Park Avenue, Corning, NY. A gathering will immediately follow at Community Mennonite Fellowship, 290 Park Ave, Corning, NY. Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
