Ronald W. Hough, age 84, formerly of Middlebury Center, PA, residing there for 30+ years, Painted Post, NY and most recently Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Carolyn's House @ Hospice of Central, PA.
He was born in Bath, NY on February 3, 1933 to Floyd and Margaret (Lane) Hough. He was predeceased by his wife Jane VanDusen in 1972. Ron was a graduate of Haverling High School, Bath NY.
Ron served in the Army during the Korean War 1953 to 1954 as a Sergeant in the Motor Pool. He received the following medals: Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1972 and the Wellsboro Moose.
He retired from Corning Glass Works in 1994, previously working at J & J Auto Parts and the Corning Foodmart.
Ron is survived by son, Gary (Diana) Hough of Marysville, PA; brother, Richard (Elva) Hough of Bath, NY; sister, Rita (Don) Miller of Charlotte, NC; grandsons: Adam (Kristin) Hough of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Alex Hough of OH; 2 great-granddaughters, Harlow and Luca; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Per Ron's request, there will be no funeral services. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post, NY, at the convenience of the family.
