Floyd M. Ziggy Ziegenfuss age 80, of Painted Post died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
He was born in Pottstown, PA on September 28, 1925 to Warren and Jennie (Moll) Ziegenfuss, and grew up in Red Lion, PA. He was raised by his aunt and uncle Arthur and Pauline Mol, and their son Wayne Moll. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II, and later into the Air Force. He retired in 1970 with 22 years combined service times. He worked for Ingersoll Rand from 1973 until 1985. He was a member of the American Legion in Campbell, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 524 in Corning, Retired and Enlisted Association, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed all sports. She married Dorothy E. Kreger on May 15, 1905 in Kingwood, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Gerald.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy at home; one daughter: Paula (Ted) Whaley of Glen Carbon, IL; four grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Michael, and Ryan Whaley.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from Noon until 2:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Streen in Corning where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
