Donald W. Moore, age 60, of Painted Post passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Mr. Moore was born in Corning on February 12, 1945. He was the son of the late Charles E. and Anna L. (Gauss) Moore. Donald married Marilyn Ameigh on December 28, 1974 in Campbell, NY.
After graduating from East High School in 1964, Donald answered the call of duty and was in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era as a F111 Mechanic. He later worked in Manufacturing for Dresser-Rand in Painted Post until he became disabled. Mr. Moore was a member of the American Legion Post 1279 Of Campbell.
In Donalds earlier years he enjoyed hunting with his family and participating in water sports. Throughout the years he spent much of his free time socializing with friends and watching car races, action films, TV shows, and western films. He had a keen interest in all levels of history and the environment in space.
He is survived by his loving wife: Marilyn; sister, Dorothy Moore of Corning; sister in law, Deborah Carl of Maryland; mother in law, Mary Wilcox of Painted Post; aunts, Mildred Gauss of Corning, Margie Moore of California, and Eleanor Moore of California; uncle, Earl Emmons of California; niece, Dina Reinhart of Maryland; nephew, Jason Carl of Maryland; and many cousins.
Donald was predeceased by brother, William Moore and special aunt, Floris Gauss.
Donalds Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 11:00am at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning with Rev. Earl L. Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
