Richard Lightfoot age 83, of Brown Hollow Road died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Founders Pavilion, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Richard was born in Corning on September 28, 1922, to James and Mary (Bennett) Lightfoot. He married Mary Robords on February 9, 1961 in Corning. He had been a dairy farmer all of his life, had been a past president of the Steuben County Farm Bureau, and a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club. He was a member of North Baptist Church in Corning and Gideons International.
His survivors include his wife Mary; a daughter, Richelle Lightfoot of Corning; two sons, Robert (Debbie) Lightfoot of Borden, IN and Jonathan (Betsy) Lightfoot of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Olive (William) Burch of Grand Island, NY and Elizabeth (Earle) Wilde of Jeffersonville, NY; one brother, Whiting (Ruth) Lightfoot of Corning; three grandchildren, Bobby, Carolyn, and Nathan; several nieces and nephews.
A Service of Celebration of Richards life will be held on Saturday January 21, 2006 at the North Baptist Church, 127 Sly Avenue in Corning at 3:00 PM with Reverend Earl Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery.
