James S. "Jim" Adams, age 78, of Lindley, NY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving and devoted family after a courageous eleven-year battle with cancer.

He married the love of his life, Margery L. Bronson on February 5, 1977 in Fairport, New York. He worked as a self-employed remodeling contractor throughout the Rochester and Corning areas, retiring with over 50 years of service. He later taught heavy equipment and building trades for GST Boces.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and community member. He was a life member of Lions International with 35 years of service, having served as president in 1994-95. When he wasn't participating in community events, Jim will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter of both large and small game and would take many hunting trips - including Elk hunting in Montana and Colorado. He enjoyed watching and reading old-time Westerns and listening to country music. He also loved tending his vegetable garden and cooking for his family – he made the best sandwiches! He was an avid euchre and poker player. He enjoyed traveling with his family annually to Myrtle Beach and going on a number of vacations with his wife and special friends, Gail and Terry VanEtten and Connie and Ben Younker. He was an enthusiastic spectator to his children and grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed many years of companionship with his beloved pets.
