Arlen H. Larrison, age 80, of Corning passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Corning Hospital.
Arlen was born on March 29, 1937 in Sabinsville, PA, the son of the late Gilbert and the late Sybil (Spencer) Larrison. He was a graduate of Northside High School class of 1956. He then joined and served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962. He married Vivian J. Aulin, she predeceased him on August 14, 2007.
He was employed by NY Central Railroad of Corning, NY working track maintenance, the Ingersoll Rand Foundry and also worked construction through Beam Brothers of Walton, NY. He later began working for Corning, Inc. at the Pressware Plant, retiring in 1995 with 36 years of service.
Arlen was a member of the AFGWU Local 1000, USW Union Local 1000, Men's Auxiliary VFW Post 524, Military Service NY National Guard 27th Armored Division, US Army Reserves 98th Infantry Division. In his free time, he loved researching WWII world history and railroad history. He was an avid collector of WWII aircraft models as well as other WWII weapon and objects. He also loved sports – especially the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by daughter-in-law and caregiver, Carrie (Ron) Stiles of Painted Post, NY; several children and grandchildren; grandsons: Bruce (Toni) Larrison, Jr. of Campbell, NY, Benjamin (Krystina) Larrison of Bradford, NY, Tyler Stiles of Painted Post, NY; great grandchildren: Carsen Larrison, Bryce Paul Larrison, Trey Larrison, Bristol Larrison; and step-daughter, Christine (Robert) Roach of SC; good friend and neighbor, Aaron (Christine) Flint of Corning, NY.
In addition to his parents and wife, Vivian, Arlen was predeceased by his great-grandson, Gavin Larrison.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
