Albert Darcangelo age 92, of Montour Falls died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls.
He was born in Galeton, PA on October 12, 1913, to Camillo and Julia (Tucci) Darcangelo. He was the husband of Loretta Davis who preceded him in death in 1965. He retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post in 1975 where he had worked as a loader, crane operator, and built skids and boxes. As a young man, he worked on his familys farm. He loved traveling and taking walks.
He is survived by his two daughters: Ruth Lewis of Beaver Dams and Jane (Steve) Andrews of Montour Falls; four sons, Richard Darcangelo of Painted Post, Donald (Nora) Darcangelo of Painted Post, Thomas (Carol) Darcangelo of Rochester, and James Darcangelo of Beaver Dams; a brother, Thomas Darcangelo of Galeton, TN; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his brothers, Joe, Tony, John, Carman, and Nicholas, and by two sisters, Virginia and Elizabeth.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 1, 2005 from 6-8 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning, where funeral services will follow calling hours at 8:00 PM with Reverend Harold DeCamp officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery, Painted Post.
