Edna O. Tucker, age 70, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Corning Hospital.
Edna was born on December 22, 1946 in Harlem, NY, the daughter of the late Cleophus and the late Pearl Lee (Turley) Counts. She received an Associate's Degree in Business from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She later worked for Nynex as a toll investigative clerk, retiring with 34 years of service.
In her free time, Edna attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Port Washington, NY and will be remembered for her love of singing, cooking and baking – especially for her church family. She had a talent for sewing and designing clothing – including making her own wedding dress. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Daniella Tucker of Corning, NY; sons: Nathanial Tucker of Penn Yan, NY, Robert Tucker of Binghamton, NY and Kashawn Tucker of Corning, NY; three grandchildren: Sayquan Dejean, Najae Dejean, Richard Bookhard; and extended family: Jason Fernandez and family, Luis J. Colon-Alamar and family, Cleo Snyder and family, Reba Martin Moss and family, Rev. J.T. Barber and family, Tyrone Hall and family and Janice Blake-Bell and family.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
