Genevieve K. Mann, age 88, of Corning, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Absolut Care of Three Rivers. She was born on June 8, 1929 in Corning, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Regan) Kelley. She married William Mann on July 2, 1949 in Elmira. He predeceased her on June 26, 1998.
Genevieve was a dedicated and loving spouse, mother, sister, and grandmother who made sure that her family was well provided for. She was confident and determined, and she carried a very strong ethical and moral compass. Genevieve was willing to courageously stand up for her convictions and her beliefs. She enjoyed quilting, she was an avid reader, and she loved music. Genevieve graduated from Northside High School, she attended Corning Community College, and she retired from Corning Inc in 1987 following 35 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marian Kilpatrick and Greg Di Iorio of New Providence, NJ, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Karen Mann of Alpine, grandchildren, William (Sandra), Lucas (Chrissy), Wesley (Stephanie), Owen, Nichole Astolfi, Ashley Astolfi, Dana Di Iorio, Sean Di Iorio, and Nolan Di Iorio, great grandchildren, Ella, Dominic, Sofi, Leahla, Cameron, Ava, Liam, Legend, and Sterling, and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Edward Kelley, and a canine companion, Ditto Mann.
Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning Monday, October 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebration of Genevieve's life will follow there at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
