Sheryl Anne Forman, age 45, of Caton died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at her home on Tannery Creek Road following a 30 year struggle with Juvenile Diabetes. She was born May 22, 1960 at Little Rock, AR the daughter of Richard Eric and Janet M. Dodge.
Following graduation from Corning West High School, Sheryl went on to Elmira College where she earned her BS and MS in Education. Prior to receiving her degree she taught in the Corning-Painted Post School District. During that time she served as a junior class advisor and then taught GED classes at Steuben BOCES.
Sheryl was a very creative person who excelled in cross stitching. Her friends and family remember her for her congeniality and special love for children. During the summer, she especially enjoyed spending time on the beaches on Long Island. She was a boy scout leader with the Five Rivers Council, a member of All Saints Parish, St. Patricks Bell Jar, and Altar Care.
Sheryl is survived by her son, Steven Craig Forman of Corning; her parents, Richard & Janet Dodge of Corning; one sister, Diane Dodge of Delray Beach, FL; two brothers, Richard Dodge of Roswell, GA, and Gordon Dodge of Vancouver, WA; grandmother, Genevieve Szczepankowski of Water Mill, NY; nieces and nephews, Amanda & Adam Dodge of Roswell, GA and Austin, Conner, Chase and Sydney Roswell of Vancouver, WA; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 - 7 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 155 State St., Corning. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Of Jesus and Mary Parish Cemetery, Southhampton, NY.
