Adrian Joseph Driscoll, age 87, of Corning died Monday, May 16, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Elmira.
Mr. Driscoll was born in Corning on May 24, 1917, the son of the late William and Johanna (McCarthy) Driscoll. On May 26, 1945 he married Virginia Illig at St. Patricks Church in Corning, NY. She predeceased him in 1990.
Adrian graduated from CFA in 1935 and joined his father and brother as a partner at the Standard Dry Cleaning Co. that was founded by his father in 1924. He retired from the family business in 1983.
He was drafted into the US Army in 1941 and served until 1946, retiring as a First Lieutenant.
He is survived by his children, James (Diane) Driscoll of Olean, NY, JoAnne (Christopher) Andrews of Billerica, MA, Mary (Patrick) Keeler of Elmira, William (Josine) Driscoll of Corning, and Linda (Eric) Blough of Dover, NH; grandchildren, Terrence Andrews, Katie (Ryan) Byrd, Heather (John) Tuskowski, Kelly (Michael) Wolf, Joseph (Meggan Colegrove) Driscoll, Kristin Keeler, Robert Blough, Michael Blough, Chris Driscoll, Daniel Driscoll, and Patrick Blough; great grandchildren, Nolan Byrd and Molly Wolf; sister in law, Betty Driscoll of Corning. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert and sisters, Catherine, Florence, and Alice.
Adrians family will receive friends Friday, May 20, 2005 from 4 until 7 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State St., Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
