Beverly Jane Covell

Beverly Jane Covell, age 66 of 245 Main St., Coopers Plains, NY, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Corning Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born on July 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Evelyn (Daily) Burrell. Beverly grew up in Addison and attended Addison Central School.  She married Larry W. Covell in Lindley, NY on March 23, 1976.  He survives her.  She was a cook, employed by Holiday Inn in Painted Post, NY for many years.  Prior to that, she worked at the Poster Restaurant in Painted Post.   Beverly was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed gambling, spending time at Waneta Lake and doing special things daily for her family.  She liked lunching with her lifelong friend, Sharon Nichols.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Larry; her mother, Evelyn Harndon of Coopers Plains; five sons, Robert (Christy) Crouch of Corning, NY, Donald (Lisa) Crouch of Elmira Heights, NY, Michael (Diane) Crouch of Hornell, NY, Larry Covell, II of Horseheads, NY,  and Scott Covell of North Carolina;  daughter,  Shelly (Matthew) Houghtaling of Westfield, PA; 13 grandchildren; 2  great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews;  two sisters, Virginia (John VanOrsdale) Lewis of Woodhull, NY, and Thelma (Richard) Coryea of Addison, NY; brother, William (JoAnn) Burrell of Washington State; and special friend, Sharon Nichols.

It was Beverly’s wish that there be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Beverly’s name may be directed to Cancer Treatment Services, 114 Columbia Street, Corning, NY 14830, or to Southern Tier Hospice & Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
