Kimberly R. Hughes, age 41, of Telegraph Road, Bath, formerly of Knott County, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Ira Davenport Hospital. Kim was born March 28, 1969, in Jenkins, KY. She is the daughter of Peggy (Gibson) Stigleman of Tennessee.

She was employed by Janet R. Bauter Allstate Insurance Agency as an Insurance Agent. Kim also established her own candle, bath and body business known as Corning Wax Works. She was a well known local karaoke singer. She enjoyed hiking and walking in the outdoors, and it should be noted she was a very talented artist.

She is survived by her mother, Peggy (Andy) Stigleman; significant other and best friend, Jeff Walike of Bath, NY; Aunt, Arlene Prince of IL; Uncle, Ramon (Karen) DeLong of TN; Aunt, Wanda (Gary-Keith) Gearheart of IN; Cousin, Gina Shouse of KY; Cousin, Christy Boyd of KY; Cousin, Dustin Shouse of KY; and her special cat, Edie.

Calling hours will be Friday, July 30 from 5-7 PM with a funeral service immediately following at Carpenter's Funeral Home, LLC, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, NY. The family is planning a future celebration for Kim in Tennessee.
