Terrance B. Bennett, age 57, of South Corning passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 surrounded by family at home, after a long battle with cancer. Terrance was born on June 27, 1953 in Corning, NY. He is the son of the late Albert and Pauline (Hanshaw) Bennett. He married Connie (Horton) Strawser on October 1, 1986 in Painted Post.

Terrance retired from Corning Inc in 2005 with 38 years of service. He was very proud of being an electrician and passionate about his job. He is a member of the Corning VFW, Corning American Legion, and the Montour Moose Club. Terrance enjoyed shopping on line, and traveling to casino's in Salamanca and Tioga.

He is survived by his wife: Connie (Horton) Bennett; two daughters: Tina (Paul) Woodhouse of Corning, Tracy of Local Area; two sons: Jason (Mindy) Strawser of Painted Post, Terry Jay Bennett of Painted Post; two sisters: Candace (Edward) Clark of Campbell, Sue Ellen Bennett of AZ; one brother: Paul Bennett of Corning; nine grandchildren; several cousins; and a special canine companion, Sadie.

Calling hours for Terrance will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 2:00- 4:00 pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 4:00pm at Carpenter's Funeral Home, LLC, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, NY with Meredith Tifft from Hospice officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Tier Hospice & Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830. Following the service for Terrance, there will be a gathering at the American Legion, John P. Eaton Post, 8 River Road, South Corning, NY 14830.
