Viola E. Moshier, age 82, formerly of West Caton Road, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Founders Pavilion in Corning.

Viola was born on March 18, 1928 in Corning to Raymond and Stella (Fero) Robinson. She was a 1946 graduate of Northside High School. Viola married Malcom Moshier in 1950 and was preceded in death by him in 1989. She was a founding member and long-time pianist of West Caton Community Chapel, now known as West Caton Baptist Church. She loved crocheting, embroidering, quilting, knitting, gardening, playing piano, and especially spending time with her family.

Viola is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Brad) Drake of Corning; four sons, Jeffrey (Linda) Moshier of Corning, Mickey (Connie) Moshier of Nederland, TX, Ron (Gwen) Moshier of Beaver Dams, and Tim (Carmel) Moshier of West Caton; two sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Crow of Pikesville, MD and Sandra (Harold) Stewart of Maitland, FL; grandchildren, Jen (Brad) Cramer, April (Brad) Prinzi, Steve (Jessica) Moshier, Matthew Drake, Kelsey (Jerod) Barnes, Stefanie Moshier, Alex Moshier, Brandon Drake, Timothy Moshier, Jr., Thomas Moshier, Katy Moshier, and Kevin Moshier; 3 great-grandchildren, Carter and Natalie Prinzi and Andrew Cramer; several nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Bernice Moshier and Lois Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her half-brothers, Ted Robinson and Francis Robinson; and by her grandson, Dustin Drake who passed away on the same date in 1996.

Calling hours will be held today, Tuesday July 20, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Carpenter's Funeral Home, LLC, 14 East Pulteney Street in Corning, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday with Reverend James Proper officiating. Burial will be in Barnard Cemetery.
