Alice V. Perry, age 89, of Painted Post, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Corning Hospital. She was born on May 10, 1921 in Elmira, the daughter of Charles and Grace Ellen Woughter. She married Donald Perry on July 25, 1941 in Corning. He predeceased her on December 17, 1993.

Alice was a member of the Twin Tiers Christian Church and a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking, swimming, playing cards, board games, reading, and fishing.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon and Sumner Burr of Rockport, Massachusetts, Donna Shaut of Painted Post, Michael and Julia Perry of Auburn, Washington, David and Kathleen Perry of Saratoga Springs, Deborah and James Mills of Corning, and Timothy and Joyce Perry of Lynchburg, Virginia. She also has grandchildren, Corinna, Leigh, Sara, Chris, Jason, Kyle, Caitlin, Isabel, and Ian; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

It was Alice's wish that there be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 am at Twin Tiers Christian Church, 36 Beartown Road in Painted Post. A private burial service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post.
