Garrett DuVall, Funeral Director/Owner
Garrett is a native of Addison, New York. He was introduced to the funeral profession as a teen. Garrett’s original mentor was the late Leland Flint, the funeral director and owner of Flint Funeral Home in Addison. Leland’s empathy for the families he served and the life-long bonds that he built with those families is what attracted Garrett to the funeral profession.
In 2004, Garrett graduated from Addison Central School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Keuka College in 2008, and then attended Simmons Institute of Mortuary Science. Graduating in the spring of 2009, Garrett completed his residency under the professional guidance of the Carpenter family. In November of 2010, he received his funeral director’s license. Since receiving his license, Garrett has served as funeral director for Phillips Funeral Home and Carpenter's Funeral Home as well as manager of the Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home.
Garrett’s satisfaction in funeral service comes from the relationships that he builds with the families he serves. Garrett’s desire is to ensure that he fulfills the wishes of families while providing a specialized service that is a fitting tribute to the loved one.
Garrett lives in Addison, New York. Garrett is the proud parents of two boys, Noah and Ethan. He attends the First Baptist Church in Addison. In his leisure time, Garrett enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and especially playing outside with his children.
“I was born and raised in Addison,” says Garrett. “I found my calling here as a teenager, working for Flint Funeral Home, and this is where I live and raise my family.
“I see my friends— families I have served around town. Nothing is more important to me than helping families find peace in the loss of a loved one. My goal is to offer compassion and an attentive ear to those experiencing grief.”
Garrett is proud to be a part of the greater Addison community.
Garrett is a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Garrett is active in several local service organizations. He is a Third-degree Mason with Addison Union Lodge #118 and a member of the Addison Area Merchants’ Association.
